While not in favor of the surveillance state, it seems that AI could be used to read postings of known aberrants to detect manifestos and the like that we often see after the fact. Detection of unhinged hate should be straightforward.

Of course the same tools could be used by authoritarians to detect "impure thought." Maybe the proper term is "will," not "could."
