Backyard Birds Brighten Burdened Brains

It’s a Tufted Titmouse!

My children know that as long I have at least one useful eye, I hope to be left by the window that looks out to the bird feeder.

Sheltering in place has confirmed that notion. With nowhere to go, much more time has been spent looking out that window and capturing images of the birds frequenting our feeders.

As the winter recedes, the goldfinches provide a more than welcome splash of color against the drab pre-spring backdrop.

Stark contrast from body to wing calls for attention.

Nuthatches are easily identified from a distance by their capacity for exploring trees in a downward direction.
